About this Event
Often, veterans, first responders and others who may have experienced traumatic events may feel alone because ‘no one understands’, so why engage? Unfortunately, due to experiences of personal losses or traumatic events, and our collective experiences with the COVID epidemic and other events our country has recently encountered, many have become isolated from friends and families. The stress of isolation and loneliness not only plays havoc on our social lives, it has a detrimental effect on our physical and mental health as well.
As humans, we are not made to be alone. During this session, Dr. Judy Jacobs will be discussing the importance of connecting with others to build up our resilience to the stressors that can ultimately cause illness. She will discuss various ways to get involved with your family, friends, and/or community. Engaging with others is an important first step to taking care of yourselves. Come and join the conversations as we discuss alternative ways to connect with others.
