STATEWIDE PEOPLE’S HEARING ON AI DATA CENTERS

For months, communities across Missouri have been asking our state leaders to take a serious look at what is happening with the rapid expansion of AI data centers—the enormous demands on our electric grid and water systems, the utility infrastructure being built to support them, tax incentives, land-use changes, and the very real impacts being felt by the people who actually live in these communities.
Many of us had been expecting a legislative hearing on these issues.
We have now been told that hearing may no longer happen.
So the people are going to hold one anyway.
On September 16, residents from communities across Missouri will meet in the Capitol Rotunda to tell our own stories, share testimony, speak directly with legislators, compare what is happening in our communities, and demonstrate just how statewide this issue has become.
Because Warrenton is not an isolated case.
Neither is Montgomery County.
Neither is Franklin County.
Neither is Lincoln County.
Neither is Kansas City, Springfield, or the next Missouri community finding out that a massive industrial project and the infrastructure to support it may already be headed their way.
This is bigger than any one data center.
And if our government is not going to create the room for Missourians to be heard, we will create the room ourselves.
WCCRD will be there alongside residents and organizations from around the state. The gathering will provide opportunities to engage senators and representatives, give testimony about data-center impacts, and build relationships among communities facing these projects.
Right now, I need you to SAVE THE DATE.
If you are interested in attending from Warren County or the surrounding area, please comment below, message me, or reach out to WCCRD so I can start keeping a list of people who want to go. As transportation and additional event details are finalized, I want to make sure everyone who wants to participate stays connected.
