A POWERFUL DOCUMENTARY - 20 YEARS IN THE MAKING

State Organs takes you on a two-decade journey of courage and resilience, uncovering hidden truths behind the global transplant trade. This award-winning film shines a light on the strength of the human spirit and the hope for justice and change.

In line with Rotary’s commitment to educate the public and foster dialogue, this screening is open to Rotarians and the general public. The event will be followed by an exclusive Q&A with a panel of leading voices in human rights. Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of truth, courage, and action.

About the Film:

Masterfully directed by Peabody Award-winning filmmaker Raymond Zhang and accompanied by an evocative score from Emmy Award-winning composer Daryl Bennett, State Organs has garnered 50 international awards and was an official contender for Best Documentary Feature at the 97th Academy Awards. Based on true events, the film chronicles the heart-wrenching journeys of two families as they relentlessly searched for their loved ones who mysteriously disappeared while in police custody. Their pursuit of truth uncovered a systemic, state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting operation—one that continues to this day.

Moderator: Dr. Sharon Sullivan, Topeka Shawnee County anti-Human Trafficking Coalition, Founder and Co-chair.

Panelists:
  • Ms. Stephanie Meyer, Past District Governor of Rotary District 5710
  • Ms. Sara Effner, Human Rights activist
  • Ms. Emily Huang, End Forced Organ Harvesting Rotary Satellite Club of CAAHT
