This event will highlight the ongoing efforts of our local institutions to strengthen academic opportunities, support student success, and deepen partnerships with the business community to meet workforce needs.
Hear from leaders in Higher Education:
Dr. Marilyn Fore, President of Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC)
Dr. Fore will provide important updates on HGTC, including current enrollment trends, campus growth and improvements, and the college’s expanding role in workforce development. She will share how HGTC is partnering with local businesses to ensure that students are prepared with the skills needed to meet the demands of Horry County’s evolving economy.
Dr. Pam Martin, Coastal Carolina University
Dr. Martin will share updates on Coastal Carolina University and its academic progress. She will also discuss the RISE Program, which places student interns into the workforce while incorporating a sustainability component, ensuring that graduates are equipped not only with professional experience but also with the knowledge to lead in environmentally conscious ways.
BJ Beaver, Partnership Grand Strand
BJ Beaver will present findings from a recent student survey focused on retention and post-graduation outcomes. His insights will shed light on how our community can better support students to remain in the region after graduation, strengthening our workforce and community ties.
