StarWound is a sophisti-pop trio based in Athens, Greece. Their latest project, Interiors, brings them to Butler for a free concert featuring songs created in collaboration with contemporary American poets, as well as recitations, to musical accompaniment, of poems by Butler students. The concert will be held October 22 at 7:30 at the Schrott Center for the Arts.
StarWound’s music fuses a cabaret ambience with elements of EDM and synth rock. They have released three albums: Miles to Walk (2015), So Wrong (2018) and What Do you See? (2024). They have participated in many famous festivals throughout Europe and have given concerts in Switzerland, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, and Luxembourg. They have collaborated with the Greek National Opera, composing “Dancing Cloud,” a work dedicated to the memory of the principal dancer Sasha Neskov.
StarWound’s visit to Butler is part of a tour of the midwest that also includes appearances at Millikin University, Indiana State University, Ohio Northern University, Woodland Pattern in Milwaukee, and Maharishi International University. The concert will feature songs adapted from works by published poets at each of these locations, including Butler Professor of English Chris Forhan.
