Startup Forum: Biology and the New Frontier of Mining
About this Event
From pickaxes in the gold rush to present day explosives, mining has always been a brute force industry bending the Earth to the miner’s will. But what if the miner could work with the Earth to extract ore more efficiently? Join us for a conversation with Liz Dennett, Ph.D. on the new frontier of mining where her company, Endolith, is changing the industry with biology assisted extraction. This conversation will dig deep on new technology in the next frontier of mining!
: Liz is the Founder and CEO of Endolith, a biological intelligence platform applying adaptive microbial systems to mining. Endolith helps operators extract more copper from low-grade and complex ores using systems that improve over time in real-world conditions. She holds a PhD in Geoscience from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and previously held leadership roles at Amazon Web Services, Wood Mackenzie, and the NASA Astrobiology Institute.
