Stars for our Troops has Star Kits for Home until September

Because of the heat of the summer and no air conditioning in the OLV school, we have taken a different approach to our monthly Star Parties. During the summer, we are offering Star Kits for you to take and create the Stars from your home.

Each Star Kit contains 10 washed cantons to be cut into a pentagon shape around each Star. Notes to be placed with a Star inside the pouches (included for all Stars) and put into a bag for later distribution. The kits are ready to be picked up from Louise at OLV or contact Susan at 518-235-1558 to arrange a place and time.

When you have completed using all of the Stars, a new bag will be ready for you in exchange for the one you have. Your name will also go into a raffle for a $25 gift card drawn on the last day of August 2024.

The average completion time for a kit is 2 weeks, as everyone is busy in the summer, but is a way to volunteer in your cool and comfy home. Get together with a couple of your friends and complete the task in a few hours. We are getting ready for the hundreds of bags of Stars that will be needed for Veterans Day, which start mailing in September.
