FINALE: FRINGE OF THE WOODS 2026
Storytelling, performance art, music, comedy. Come our be a part of our 6th Annual 3-day festival at the Mile High Theatre in Frazier Park, CA. Since 2020 we have presented cutting edge theatre, music and comedy under the stars in a backyard setting in the Los Pinos National Forrest, a 90 minute drive from Los Angeles. We offer coffee, wine, blankets, and snacks in an intimate environment made up of LA and SF based artists, as well as the local theatrical community. Together we experience the shared environment of live theatre.

This year he will be accompanying Genny Lim, as well as sticking in his musical two cents here and there as he sees fit. He’s done a lot of other stuff. Info: With Road Plays they create a series of brief vignettes designed to serve as breaks in the action, interludes between scenes of a larger dramatic work, or stand-alone, self-contained shards of celebration.
Akin to the knee plays familiar to fans of Japanese Noh Theatre, Road Plays are often rooted in local history or mythology, and are intended to amuse, divert, and provide respite to the weary.
Tonight you will experience but a few selections from the 144-part series currently under construction.

In lieu of the postponement of the premiere engagement of the show- join us for a special event featuring the first public presentation of select performances of this new work about the imagined childhood, memories, dreams, ghosts and the beginnings of Jerry Garcia- in the Lower Mission.

Montoya explores the childhood events that shaped an American Folk Hero and rock God - from his grandmother's Irish home in The Excelsior through The Mission to the docks of a city where the historic wharfs held a wonderland for the young Garcia Brothers and a generation of kids in a City where everybody it seemed stood on the line at Bethlehem Steel or played music in the vast taverns of the Lower Mission!
