The Allegro Chamber Singers will kick off the 2025-26 edition of the Starlight Tea Concert Series on Saturday, August 16, at 7:00 p.m. The concert follows immediately after the Chris Lambert Benefit Dinner (see related article) so people can come for dinner and stay for the concert.
The theme “Seasons of Life” will showcase familiar tunes, such as show tunes from Porgy and Bess, Oliver, and Wicked, as well as works by Dan Forrest, David Bennett Thomas, and “Lux Aeterna” from Requiem.
Formerly known as Musical Associates and founded by Emery DeWitt, the Chamber Singers are now directed by Jon Clemens and accompanied by Monica Hochstedler Carlson. The group rehearses and performs in the summer months only since many of the singers perform with other groups during the rest of the year.
