Wellington's own 10 piece Afrobeat Jazz powerhouse, Star Time, have been setting the city's dancefloors on fire since their debut at the WLG Jazz Festival in 2024. They have just come fresh out of the studio where they finalised their debut album, to be released later this year.
Star Time’s contagious on-stage energy tends to leave audience members stunned and begging for more, not to mention the urge to dance at their shows is stronger than life itself.
Rhythms hit like fireworks, locking hips and feet into motion whether you planned to move or not. Anyone who has been to a Star Time show can attest: the true stars of the night are undeniably the audience. The sheer levels of energy and uninhibited dance are nothing short of cinematic.
