Stan Boardman is a British comedian known for his cheeky and irreverent style, which gained popularity in the 1970s and 1980s. He became a household name through his appearances on British TV shows like The Comedians and The Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club. Boardman's humor often drew on his working-class background and experiences growing up in Liverpool, blending observational comedy with jokes about football and everyday life. However, he is perhaps most famous—and sometimes controversial—for his recurring jokes about World War II and Germans, which both entertained and divided audiences.
