About this Event
This course provides you with an understanding of what stammering is and how it can impact on a child’s learning and interactions in school. It provides practical strategies to help support children and young people who stammer in your setting.
Aims:
- To understand more about stammering and things which affect it.
- To understand how to reduce demands on children who stammer and support their communication.
- To know how to talk to a child about stammering.
Ideal for:
Teachers and Childcare/Education staff who support children who stammer, or any practitioners who would like to find out more about stammering.
Please note: This course will be run as an online training session via Microsoft Teams. When you book, you will receive information about how to access the training and how the session will be run. You will receive emails and the invite from [email protected].
Please note that our training courses and workshops are designed to be interactive, to ensure participants get the most from the session. With this in mind, we ask that you check to ensure that both your camera and microphone are working prior to the course.
Each person attending the training needs to purchase an individual ticket. Several participants may join the training from the same device but each participant must have purchased an individual ticket. Additional participants who have not bought a ticket are not allowed to sit and watch the training, either in or out of the camera view. Additional participants in the room, who have not purchased a ticket, will be asked to leave.
