For one special evening, the stairwell of the Whanganui Yoga Centre becomes a living instrument.
🧘 The Journey Between
Participants will be lying comfortably on the Floor landing areas on yoga mats with cushions and blankets (supplied), fully supported as waves of sound travel both upward and downward through the stairwell’s natural resonance.
From below, earthy tones rise — drums, grounding rhythms, breathy flutes, ancient textures that feel like the pulse of the land.
From above, crystal bowls, chimes, and shimmering celestial instruments descend — spacious, luminous, almost weightless.
And you… rest in between.
Suspended between earth and sky, you may feel as though you are the stairway itself — grounded below, open above.
As the sounds interweave and spiral around you, you may experience:
• Vibrations moving gently through the spine
• A sense of expansion or lightness
• Deep nervous system settling
• Dreamlike imagery or memory
• A feeling of being held in something larger
• Profound stillness between the notes
The stairwell’s acoustics create a natural vertical soundscape — tones cascading, rising, echoing — wrapping around you in three dimensions.
