Stained Glass workshop- Paint your own Medieval Curiosity

Over a full days course you will learn the basics of glass painting in the wondeful Shutter Studios- and create work that will be kiln fired for you to take home, including a medieval suncatcher. All materials are provided (and tea, coffee and biscuits!)

The course will look a bit like this:

AM- We will go through the basics of stained glass painting, brushes, paint mixing and techniques, and you will get your first glass painting experience! Like medieval scribes illuminating manuscripts by candlelight, you will practice mark making and paint layering.

PM- We will work on using what we learnt in the mornings session to create our own medieval suncatchers. References will be provided, whether you favour unusual beasts, holy stars, peculiar faces, or decorative flourishes worthy of a monastery margin doodle.

Once completed, your pieces will be prepared for kiln firing and leading, transforming them from humble painted pieces into radiant stained glass relics!

At the end we will host an informal gallery to apprciate the days work.

No stained glass or painting experience required, all materials provided.
