About this Event

Following the screening of Filmmakers for the Prosecution on October 18, Sylvie Lindeperg presents an illustrated lecture featuring the archival research for her award-winning book, Staging Nuremberg: How the United States and the Soviet Union Fought Over the Portrayal of Nazi Crimes (2026), Columbia University Press’s translation of La Bataille des images (2021). Lindeperg will be joined in conversation by Annette Insdorf.

Sylvie Lindeperg is Professor of History at University of Paris/Panthéon-Sorbonne, and a member of the Institut universitaire de France. Her research focuses on the intersection of cinema, history, and memory, the Second World War, and international justice. She is also known for her earlier book, Night and Fog: A Film in History (Minnesota, 2014).

Annette Insdorf is Professor of Film at the Columbia School of the Arts, an expert on films about the Holocaust, and the author of Indelible Shadows: Film and the Holocaust.
