Join us for a special evening of live theatre at Hop Harvest & Vine as we present a staged reading of a brand-new play.
Lock of the Irish tells the story of an Irish immigrant whose letters about “Irish luck” capture the imagination of a young Norwegian woman he meets in New York. Over three years, their correspondence grows into something deeper. But when she travels to Ireland to meet him in person, the truth behind those stories begins to unfold.
Set between New York, Wisconsin, Ireland, and Norway in the late 1860s, this heartfelt story explores love, hope, family, and the power of the stories we tell each other.
The reading will feature local actors performing with Irish accents and will be directed by Sandra Renick. Following the reading, the audience will be invited to stay for a short talk-back discussion about the play.
Ticket sales directly support the actors and director bringing this staged reading to life.

About the Playwright
Joe Nolan is the owner of Good Harvest Market and Hop Harvest & Vine and has been performing in community and professional musical theatre for over three decades. Lock of the Irish is his first stage play and will be presented as a public staged reading as part of the script’s development.

Local actor and director with extensive experience in community theatre and the founder of a long-running regional Facebook audition group connecting actors, directors, and theatre companies throughout southeastern Wisconsin.
