An intimate and inventive live performance from the Neil Cowley Trio, one of the UK’s most distinctive contemporary jazz groups.
Built on Bach is a new live show that explores the subtle but powerful influence of Johann Sebastian Bach on Neil Cowley’s original compositions. Rather than reworking or reinterpreting Bach’s music directly, the trio use his ideas as a creative starting point - improvising, extemporising and following the music wherever it leads.
The result is a fluid, exploratory performance that reveals Bach’s presence within the trio’s own unmistakable sound: lyrical, rhythmic and emotionally charged.
