Wednesday, April 8: Alexis Cole & Helios Jazz Orchestra
Internationally acclaimed vocalist Alexis Cole joins the 18-piece Helios Jazz Orchestra for a powerhouse night of big band standards. Known for her "honey-toned" voice and sophisticated phrasing, Cole’s elegance meets the high-octane energy of David Manson’s premier ensemble.
Thursday, April 9: Johnbern Thomas Quintet & Randy Bordon Trio
Haitian drummer Johnbern Thomas blends Caribbean rhythms with modern hard-bop in a performance of percussive and compositional innovation. The night also features the Randy Bordon Trio, delivering Latin grooves and tight-knit improvisation that perfectly rounds out the evening’s energy.
Friday, April 10: Markus Gottschlich Trio & Hot Club SRQ
Austrian-born Steinway Artist Markus Gottschlich fuses European classical sensibilities with cinematic jazz soundscapes. Gottschlich is celebrated as a "painter of emotions," blending "old world" lyricism with high-energy, percussive intensity. Opening the night is Hot Club SRQ, featuring Keven Aland’s virtuosic violin in a "Jazz Manouche" tribute to the bustling cafes of 1930s Paris.
Saturday, April 11: Martin Bejerano’s #CubanAmerican Trio & Guests
Pianist Martin Bejerano, MacArthur "Genius" Fellow Dafnis Prieto and bassist extraordinaire Ricky Rodriguez present a masterclass in Latin jazz, synthesizing Afro-Cuban complexity with modern harmony. The evening opens with the Downtown Trio Plus One, featuring elite local artists David Pate, LaRue Nickelson, Doug Mathews and John Jenkins.
