St. Peter's Open Church and Tower

Church & Tower open event with tours of the bells, clock, ringing demonstrations and a chance to get splendid views of the town.
About this Event

Grade I listed building, 'a gorgeously ostentatious display of civic pride' (Pevsner). Notable for stone vaulted ceilings to the porch and Greenway Chapel and external carved frieze of merchant ships. Interesting main church interior with chest tombs, Mayor's Pew and splendid candelabra. Enjoy a display about the bells and bellringing in the church or take part in one of the tours of the tower, clock, bells and demonstrations of bell ringing. If weather permits, the Tower roof, with town views and of Exe valley, will also be available as part of this tour.
