We're delighted to host Three Times Through and The Exiles of Erin for great Celtic music, served up alongside our delicious Celtic menu options. Note: This event ALWAYS sells out!
Three Times Through is a quartet that delights in blending traditional Celtic tunes with recognizable contemporary melodies; from the Harry Potter theme to Light My Fire, Jump, StarWars and beyond! They grab the attention of folks who may never notice Celtic music: “Did you just mash-up the Rolling Stones with an Irish jig?”
The group began playing together in Southern California under the name Blackthorn, before reuniting in Nevada County under the name Three Times Through. Voted 4x by Union readers as "Best Band in Nevada County," their mashups have been turning heads for over 16 years as they share their love of Celtic music. TTT members are: Jeff Peach - Irish bouzouki, bodhran, hammer dulcimer, vocals; Gale Peach - Fiddle; Greg Mirken - Concertina, mandolin; and Margie Mirken - guitar, vocals, banjo.
The Exiles of Erin play fast, foot-stomping dance tunes and soulful, moving slow tunes, and they sing a wide variety of Celtic songs, some in Gaelic, with beautiful harmonies. The Exiles of Erin are: Shawn Prescott - flute, whistles, guitar, bodhran & vocals; Guy Prudhomme - banjo, guitar, low whistle, bodhran & vocals; and Shawn Prudhomme - fiddle, viola, whistle, accordion & vocals. Joining the Exiles for this performance is Tim Appleby, accomplished accordion player and singer from Chico area Irish Sessions.
Shawn Prescott and Guy Prudhomme are co-leaders of the former Holbrooke Hotel Irish Session, now the Wild Irish Sessions at Wild Eye Pub in Grass Valley on frequent Mondays, 5:30 - 7:30pm. They are regular core players at the the National Hotel Celtic Session in Nevada City, Thursdays, 5:00 - 8:00pm.
Remember to wear a little green, or else!
