About this Event

Dr Martin Mitchell is a historian at the University of Strathclyde. He is the author of the seminal work The Irish in the West of Scotland 1797-1848: Trade Unions, Strikes and Political Movements, and editor of New Perspectives on the Irish in the West of Scotland. One of his areas of expertise is the Irish in Scotland and he is currently researching a book on the history of the Irish in Glasgow.

The event is organised by the Glasgow St Patrick’s Festival Committee in partnership with the 1916 Rising Centenary Committee (Scotland) and Grace’s Irish Centre.
