We are very excited to announce that following a 15-month refurbishment, St Mark's Church at Millfield is now open as a community non-profit hub. All our tenants at St Mark's are charities or community organisations - from an aerial theatre organisation to a D&D group, arts and community gardening group, yoga and meditation group plus lots more.
We are delighted to have created this brand new venue, which will provide a stunning setting for a wide range of community activities and events, returning this beautiful building once again to serving the local community of Millfield and Sunderland, as a place for people to come together and be inspired.
We will be officially opening the building with a speech by the Mayor, and we will put on refreshments.
This is a great chance to come along, explore this beautiful church and learn more about the activities the non-profits who have made this building their new home will be offering to the community, and how you can sign up to take part.
We ask for everyone's arrival for 11.45am for a prompt start at 12noon.
