Join us for a special celebratory dinner in honor of our Cathedral’s patron and namesake, St. Joseph. The evening will begin with Vespers at 6:00 p.m. in the Cathedral, followed by dinner in Cana Hall at 6:30 p.m.The tradition of St. Joseph’s Table dates back to the Middle Ages. According to one story, during a terrible famine caused by drought, desperate villagers prayed to St. Joseph for help. Thanks to his intercession, the hardy fava bean—one of the only crops able to grow in those harsh conditions—sustained them through the crisis.
While we won’t be serving fava beans, we will enjoy a meal of pasta with meat sauce, salad, and bread. We invite parishioners to sign up to bring breads and desserts.
We are also seeking volunteers to assist with setup, food preparation and serving, and cleanup afterward. Parish groups are encouraged to motivate their members to lend a hand and join in the celebration.
