Our St. George’s Day is back on Sunday 26 April from 12-5pm. This day will be filled with exciting entertainment across Friars Square, Market Square and the Kings Head.Friars Square
Enjoy a packed programme of activities, games and performances for the whole family! Have a go at our coin-minting workshop, get creative with crafts from Queens Park Arts Centre and Wildwood Wonders, and meet a host of walkabout characters from Florence Nightingale to Anne Boleyn. Don’t miss the themed performance from Unbound Theatre and a fun trail to explore around the space.
King’s Head
With Elizabethan-era musicians, a historic storyteller, and free talks from the Buckinghamshire Historical Association and Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, the King’s Head is not to be missed. The festivities will be rounded off with our annual historic pub quiz, so come along to put your knowledge to the test!
Market Square
Meet St George and his leading lady on horseback in Market Square, alongside a host of historic characters and a towering dragon on stilts. Don’t miss the interactive performance from the Thornycroft Girls, Wonder Women of the War, before the Morris dancers build excitement for the Uniformed Parade.
Grand Uniformed Parade: 4-5pm
Come along to the Grand Uniformed Parade and help us celebrate the commitment, time, energy and enthusiasm of our Scouts, Uniformed Youth groups, and the adults who support them. Led by St George on horseback and dancers from SDSD, the parade will conclude with a Service of Thanks and the renewal of pledges — a wonderful way to end the celebrations.
We hope to see many of you enjoying this free event across Aylesbury Town Centre!
