EVENT DETAILS:
Warm up your winter on our beloved annual ‘St. Croix River Valley Winter Winery Tour’ that explores three unique wineries in the St. Croix River Valley on select Saturday’s throughout the winter months. During this outing, you will have the opportunity to take in both the sights and the wine that this vibrant region has to offer.
To begin this event, our GetKnit Gurus will meet and greet you before we board our luxury coach bus, which will carry us throughout our days travels as we seek out some of the finest wineries in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Our first stop for the day will be to the family owned and operated Winehaven Winery, Chisago County’s first estate winery. Winehaven has become a cornerstone of Minnesota winemaking, producing highly acclaimed wines that capture the distinctive flavors of its vineyards and region. Here we’ll enjoy a tasting of six of their locally made wines as we take in the views of their vineyard from the comfort of their tasting room. To accompany our tastings, we’ll also enjoy a individual Charcuterie plates featuring three different cheeses, dried cherries, cured meat, and crackers.
From there, we will head to the river valley’s beautiful, Rustic Roots Winery. Here we’ll be welcomed with a tasting flight featuring four locally made wines. Followed by a delicious lunch featuring an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring a variety of their house-made flatbread pizzas, served alongside a scrumptious house salad with choice of dressing. After we’ve refueled, you’ll have some free time to order up another beverage, explore the winery, or just kick up your feet and take in the beautiful views of the valley from our semi-private space inside the winery.
Making our final stop at Chateau St. Croix Winery and Vineyard, a European-styled winery located in the rolling hills of the River Valley, we’ll enjoy a guided tasting of five different wines (including one of their infamous ports!). After we complete our tastings, you’ll be invited to go on a behind the scenes tour of the winery’s production space and cellar, while learning about their wine-making traditions and techniques.
Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to purchase additional glasses and bottles of wine to your heart’s content.
As the day draws to a close and we make our return trip, we are sure that you will head home with memories almost as rich as the wine we tasted.
