The St. Charles Arts Council proudly announces its 3rd Annual Plein Air Event, planned for the week of August 17, 2026 to August 23, 2026, held throughout the Tri Cities. This is a weeklong outdoor painting event that the public is encouraged to view and attend.
It will be a judged event, with judge selections announced at a later date. A total of $5,250.00 in prizes will be awarded to winning artists. All artworks will be available for sale and viewing at the end of the week’s events.
The Plein Air Committee has opened 2026 participation up to 70 artists, locally and nationally.
Applications will open on January 23, 2026, and will close on April 24, 2026. Applicants may apply online at www.stcharlesartscouncil.org
The application fee is $65.00. The fee entitles artists to participate in all events listed below. This fee is non-refundable.
Applications will be juried by the St. Charles Arts Council Plein Air Committee, and artists will be notified of acceptance, by May 8, 2026.
Artist events include Main Event: Weeklong Plein Air Paint Competition – artists will be permitted to submit a total of four paintings; Quick Paint: two-hour competition; Nocturne Competition; Monday Night Welcome Party; Artist Meet & Greet, Grand Reveal Party, and Public Sale of Paintings.
Activities will also be held for the public to participate in, throughout the week.
