St Bartholomew’s Church, Brisley is listed on Historic England’s ‘Heritage At Risk’ Register and therefore needs urgent repairs to save it. The repairs will provide us with a wonderful opportunity to deliver a new programme of linked heritage learning, interpretation, wellbeing and worship activities for all ages. On Saturday 5th April, the PCC are organising a consultation morning to bring you up to speed as we prepare a grant application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF). Really important in this is how the project connects to the village for the benefit of all. Brisley is one community and by working together we will be able to celebrate our heritage and share skills and ambitions for a sustainable future.
Please join us for coffee, cake and conservation in Brisley Village Hall on Saturday 5th April from 10.30am to find out more.
We will be joined by our Project Architect and by our Project Activity Coordinator who will:
• Provide details of the urgent repairs needed to save the church.
• Give an overview of what needs to be done to secure funding from the NLHF, which if successful will be a major investment for Brisley.
• Explain our initial ideas for project activities and partnerships.
• Provide opportunities for discussion and feedback – it’s critical that we hear from you as to how the project can best deliver for the village.
We hope that you can join us so that we can better understand how we can work together to successfully deliver this project for the benefit of the wider community. The event will last around an hour and a half and will start with refreshments from 10.30am.
Please remember that this event will take place in the Village Hall.
It is not a fundraising event, but rather a way to involve the community in the project from the very start.
