About this Event

Please explore St. Ann's church and grounds, watch a beautiful sunset, or attend a Sunday service. Access to the church and grounds are free of charge and tickets are not required. If you'd like to make a donation during or after your visit, we welcome donations of any size. Your generosity helps support our community outreach, ministry and historic site preservation.

Long cherished by the Bush and Walker families, St. Ann’s Episcopal Church is a historic landmark that first opened its doors in the late 19th century. Known for its beautiful sea-washed stone construction and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, St. Ann’s is open to the public and is visited by generations of families and notable figures such as the late Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, tennis legend Chris Evert, and musical sensation Taylor Swift.

St. Ann’s is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Cape Arundel Summer Colony Historic District and is admired by thousands of visitors each summer. The beautiful stone chapel sits on the site of a War of 1812 fort.

St. Ann’s is an active, Episcopal congregation and we welcome people from all faith traditions to participate in Sunday services.

Generally speaking, visitors are welcome to visit the property daily suring our Summer season (June to Sepember). Gates open at 9 AM Monday through Saturday, and Sunday (if not attending worship services) after church services are completed. Closing times vary depending on weather and workload.

There are days and times each week, when the property and church are not open to the public because of wedding rehearsals and private ceremonies, such as memorial services. If you plan to visit on a particular day, please contact us to learn if there are any events scheduled that would limit your access to the property.

Visitors are asked to wear shirts and shoes and refrain from smoking. You are welcome to picnic and we ask that you help maintain the property by taking all refuse with you. We have docents on site to answer questions and share history about St. Ann’s.

Limited parking is available while you are on the property. Please do not park your car and take a walk away along Ocean Avenue. You might return to find the gates locked and we would hate to have you wait until the next morning to retrieve it.
