S.S.S. – September Sweats and Support
Two battles. One community. One powerful cause.
This September, we’ve decided to make an even greater impact. S.S.S. – September Sweats and Support will not only stand with children battling childhood cancer, but also fight for lives affected by suicide during Suicide Prevention Month.
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 1:00–6:00 PM at Dawn’s Creations Boutique (115 North 10th St, Suite 1G, Fort Smith, AR | 479-653-9229), we’re inviting you to join a movement of hope, courage, and action.
One Day. Two Causes. $25 Sweats That Save Lives.
Gold Ribbon for Childhood Cancer Awareness: Custom embroidered sweatshirts and sweatpants available for $25. 35% of proceeds will go to the American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO). ACCO provides critical emotional support, advocacy, and resources for families facing the most unthinkable diagnosis. They help parents navigate treatment options, offer tools to comfort children during hospital stays, and shine a light of hope in their darkest hours.
Turquoise & Purple Ribbon for Suicide Prevention Awareness: Choose your sweats with the turquoise and purple suicide prevention ribbon — also $25. 35% of these sales will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). AFSP funds life-saving research, supports survivors, educates schools and communities, and works to break the stigma surrounding mental health. Their programs bring help directly to those at risk — because suicide is preventable when we all take action.
Why We Can’t Stay Silent
Childhood Cancer
Thousands of families hear the words “your child has cancer” every year. These children show more courage in a single day than many of us do in a lifetime. With ACCO’s support, families don’t have to fight alone — but they need us to stand with them, too.
Suicide Prevention
Every year, 1,100 U.S. college students die by suicide, and nearly 24,000 attempt it.
Suicide is the second-leading cause of death for ages 10–34.
In 2021, 1,952 high school students (ages 14–18) lost their lives to suicide.
Men account for nearly 4 in 5 suicides in the U.S., but women are more likely to attempt.
By supporting AFSP, you’re funding programs that identify risk early, educate communities, offer resources to those struggling, and give hope to families who have lost loved ones. Every dollar brings us closer to saving lives that might otherwise be lost in silence.
Stand Up. Wear Gold. Wear Turquoise & Purple. Be the Change.
When you show up on September 20, you’re not just buying sweatpants or sweatshirts. You’re giving comfort to children in hospitals and hope to someone who feels unseen. You’re telling them, “You matter. You’re not alone. We’re in this together.”
Join us. Fight for them. Fight with us. Together, we are stronger than cancer — and stronger than despair.
