SSS East Texas Getting to Know Your Jeep 101

Ready to understand your Jeep a little better without feeling like you need a mechanic dictionary and a prayer candle?
We’re starting the morning at Lindale Custom Jeeps for a beginner-friendly workshop all about getting to know your Jeep. We’ll go over basic parts and components, where things are located, and how to prep your Jeep before heading off-road.
After the workshop, anyone who wants to continue the day can convoy over to Barnwell Mountain Recreational Area for easy beginner trails.
This is a great event for ladies who are newer to off-roading, want to feel more confident, or just want to understand what their Jeep can actually do beyond looking cute in the grocery store parking lot.
The workshop portion at Lindale Custom Jeeps is free.
If you choose to go to Barnwell Mountain afterward, there are park fees and requirements:
• OHV sticker required and can be purchased at the gate
• Members: $15 entry fee
• Non-members: $30 entry fee
• Passengers: $5 per passenger for non-members
• Yearly membership available for $50 for the first year
• Waivers are required at park entry
For the trail portion, please bring:
• Zip ties
• Tire deflator
• Air gauge
• Two 18mm wrenches or sockets
• Lunch
• Drinks
• Snacks
• Trash bag for your trash
The trails will be beginner-friendly. If you are choosing to off-road, come prepared for a trail day and normal outdoor conditions.
Rebecca Sparks’s husband will be available at the park to help anyone who needs assistance airing down or disconnecting sway bars. Rebecca and Kristen will also be there to help.
The workshop is rain or shine. If it rains, the off-road portion at Barnwell will be canceled and updates will be posted in the event.
Please RSVP so we have a good headcount for both the workshop and anyone planning to go to Barnwell afterward.
