SRM - 2024 Wyoming Section Annual Meeting and Banquet

Welcome to the SRM - 2024 Wyoming Section Annual Meeting and Banquet!

Join the Wyoming Section of the Society for Range Management for an exciting few days of training, networking, education, and competition.

-Day 1 will be a training opportunity with Dallas Mount, owner of Ranch Management Consultants and Ranching for Profit. The workshop will focus on decision-making strategies for ranch and range management.

Day 2 will start with student competitions and a producer-focused session with Dave Voth, SRM Director Candidate, presenting SRM's Good Grazing Makes Cents program. It will include many of WY-SRM's range livestock organization partners on a panel. Lunch on Day 2 is a Mentorship Luncheon with a keynote address by SRM President Dr. Karen Hickman. The afternoon of Day 2 will include a session focused on regionally driven landscape collaboration followed by another student activity. Day 2 will close with a networking dinner, poster session, and light dinner.

-Day 3 will lead off with student competitions, and an agency updates session will follow with many county, state, and federal agencies. Lunch on Day 3 is the annual business meeting with continued strategic planning focusing on the future of the section. The afternoon of Day 3 will include a session focused on conifer encroachment across the west with a specific focus on quantifying encroachment, long-term studies on water use, and treatment prescriptions. The afternoon of Day 3 will include our final student competition. Lastly, we will close out the annual meeting with our banquet and student and section awards.
