PUFFBALL COLLECTIVE Based out of Santa Cruz, California The Puffball Collective perform the works of The Allman Brothers, The new Mastersounds, The Grateful Dead, Peter Rowan, J.J. Cale, Sly Stone, Billy Preston, The Band, The Beatles, and more… The Puffball Collective also features an amazing catalogue of Funky Americana original compositions.
GEORGE KAHUMOKU,JR is often called Hawai‘i’s Renaissance Man—and for good reason. A multiple Grammy and Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winning slack key guitar master, George is also a prolific songwriter, performer, teacher, visual artist, storyteller, author, farmer, and entrepreneur.
In 2003, he launched The Slack Key Show: Masters of Hawaiian Music, the only long-running concert series dedicated to showcasing the great slack key artists of today. Now based in Santa Cruz County, California, George continues to tour the mainland twice a year alongside fellow Hawaiian music legends.
Each June on Maui, he leads George Kahumoku Jr.’s Annual Slack Key Guitar & ‘Ukulele Workshop—a week-long immersion in Hawaiian music and culture.
The COAST RIDGE RAMBLERS draw from the deep roots of American folk, bluegrass and country music, sharing originals and classics with equal enthusiasm. Rachel Anne Goodman, Greg Meyer, Ken Lieboff, and Steve Coulter round out the quartet, with guitar, vocals, mandolin, harmonica and bass.
DAN AND LAUREL
Meeting in 2012 via a chance YouTube sighting and fueled by a once-in-a-lifetime musical chemistry and friendship, Canadian-American husband-wife Roots-Folk duo Dan Frechette and Laurel Thomsen are “prodigious players with songwriting that sets them apart.” With soaring violin, diverse guitar styles, compelling storytelling, a dash of harmonica and humor, and unique vocal rapport they deliver a dynamic, engaging, polished performance.
POI ROGERS Hailing from Santa Cruz, CA, Poi Rogers performs original and vintage American roots music, with Gerard Egan doubling on acoustic guitar and triple neck steel and Carolyn Sills on standup bass, their timeless harmonies anchoring the show. They won the 2018 and 2024 Ameripolitan Award for Western Swing Group (as ‘The Carolyn Sills Combo’), and Carolyn was named the Academy of Western Artists' Western Swing Female Vocalist of 2020
