Squash the Beef Weekender: Youth Voice and Partnership Day

A day for local stakeholders, community partners, arts professionals, youth-sector contacts, funders & supporters.
About this Event

The opening day centres youth voice and programme impact, bringing together young people, partners and stakeholders. The programme will include an overview of the Squash the Beef campaign, a youth film screening and panel where young people share and reflect on their work, and a panel sharing how we collaborate with other organisations to maximise youth engagement and impact. The day will close with a reflective, workshop-style session designed to encourage dialogue, learning and shared commitment.

The agenda

2.00 - 3.00 pm :

Arrival and networking. Refreshments will be available on the day.

3.00 - 3.15 pm :

A walking presentation of the Squash the Beef programme from Roadworks Media’s CEO, Quince Garcia, setting the context and importance of the programme on reducing youth crime and violence. Attendees will be introduced to a selection of the young peoples work, which will be displayed gallery-style.

3.15 - 3.45 pm :

A screening of three films created by participating young people, followed by a panel discussion featuring the filmmakers. This session will offer insight into their creative journeys, reflecting on their experiences of the programme and how the Squash the Beef programme has supported them to broaden their aspirations and consider future pathways.

3.45 - 4.00 pm :

A short pause in the programme, with refreshments provided. Participants are invited to explore the space, including impact stories and gallery-style displays of young people’s work.

4.00 - 4.40 pm :

A facilitated conversation with partners exploring their involvement in the programme, the role they have played in supporting its delivery, and the impact they have observed through their engagement.

4.40 - 5.00 pm :

An interactive, workshop-style session bringing participants together to reflect on key themes from the day and explore shared commitments and next steps.

5.00 -10.00 pm :

A relaxed and informal evening with refreshments and DJ-led music.
