East Bay Square Dance with caller Evie Ladin

Square dancing is for everyone! Come on out for a community dance with live old-time music.

For our December square dance, we welcome caller Evie Ladin! Evie is a musician, songwriter, choreographer, and square dance caller who has been a calling dances in the Bay Area for years. Our old-time band for the evening is Stephanie and Her Little Helpers!

This is an inter-generational dance where everyone is welcome. Beginners welcome; kids welcome. The caller teaches each dance right before we dance it. You can come with or without a partner--most people switch partners for each dance.This is a queer-friendly event where everyone can dance any role.

Doors open: 7:45 pm

Square dancing: 8:00-10:00 pm

Stephanie and Her Little Helpers are: Stephanie Prausnitz (fiddle), Matt Knoth (guitar), Jordan Ruyle (bass), and Nick Lofaro (fiddle).

$20 general admission

$15 member of the Hillside Club or of BACDS

$25 supporter

$6 student or low-income

You can pay with cash or venmo at the door

Bring dance shoes if you have them. No stiletto heels or clogs allowed.
