SPS Dinner Club is beyond excited to welcome Chef James Canter of Guerrilla Gourmet back to San Antonio for an exceptionally special ONE-NIGHT-ONLY dinner at Cherrity Bar.
James has been spending time in South Korea, eating, exploring and soaking up the flavors of a country with one of the world’s most exciting food cultures. Lucky for us, he’s back in San Antonio temporarily — and we convinced him to get into the kitchen while he’s here.
The result?

That’s how Chef James describes the focus of this dinner, and frankly, we’re already hungry. 😋
James’s global travels have always found their way onto his plates, and this multi-course dinner will highlight some of the flavors, foods and inspiration he’s discovered during his time in South Korea — then give them the unmistakable Texas twist that makes his cooking so uniquely his own.
If you’ve followed James and Guerrilla Gourmet over the years, you already know: this guy can cook. 🔥
His bold, globally inspired cuisine has earned him a loyal San Antonio following and even landed him in Flavortown, where he competed on Food Network’s Guy’s Grocery Games. But part of what makes James such an exciting chef is that his food never stops evolving. Wherever he goes, he brings a little of the world back to Texas with him.
And this time, he’s bringing South Korea. 🇰🇷

Chef James is creating an exclusive multi-course Korean-Tex menu for the evening, inspired by some of his favorite flavors and experiences in South Korea and infused with his Texas roots.

Both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages will be available for purchase from Cherrity Bar throughout the evening.

SPS Dinner Club is a curated San Antonio dinner series created by food writer Kimberly Suta, bringing together acclaimed local chefs, adventurous diners and a shared love of exceptional food.
Originally launched in St. Paul Square, the Dinner Club has grown into a traveling culinary series popping up at locations around San Antonio — but the idea remains the same: different chefs, different locations and a completely unique experience every time.
