Join us for a day to learn and explore the beautiful Rainbow River through talks, a guided walk, lunch and learn, and a boat tour
About this Event

Whether you're new to the state or have been here for years, the Rainbow River is a treasure to explore. Join educators, scientists, park employees, and volunteers to learn why springs such as this are so important and valuable, springs restoration efforts, Florida-Friendly Landscaping practices to protect our water in your own backyard, and the plants and wildlife that call the Rainbow River home.

The day will start at 9:30 at the Rainbow Springs State Park headsprings (do not go to the campground entrance). Go to the headsprings at this address:

9:30 All participants must check-in and get a pass to enjoy the second half of the day.

Presentations will be given indoors followed by a guided walk through the state park.

After the guided walk, you will drive to the KP Hole County Park, just a short 10-minute drive.

12:00 Drive to KP Hole (personal car) for lunch and a boat ride

(Entry will be provided only to those with a pass)

Speaking topics on the pontoon boat will include aquatic vegetation, invasive species, and water-quality monitoring.

Cost: $25 (includes Eventbrite fees, entry to both parks, lunch, & boat ride)

Must be 18+ to attend. Space is limited. Purchases are limited to only 3 per family. Registration is required. NO PETS Allowed! Special accommodation requests must be made to Ondine Wells at [email protected] at least 2 weeks in advance. We apologize, but no service animals are allowed on the boat. The boat ride will be provided by a third party that may require a signed waiver.
