Hear an inspirational message from Alex Sheen, founder of because I said I would, five-time TEDx speaker, author and nonprofit leader, in Springfield, Massachusetts, on November 14, 2026. A meet-and-greet and merchandise fundraiser follows, supporting grieving families at our 92-acre camp’s resiliency and mental health retreats. Every $1,500 is equivalent to sponsoring one family.
Free private event for adults 18 and older. Space is very limited. The exact address is shared only with confirmed attendees. Register on the official page and check ticket availability; a Facebook RSVP does not reserve your spot.
VOLUNTEER + ATTEND: Help set up and run the merchandise/meet-and-greet table, accept donations with a simple credit card machine, and pack up afterward. Each volunteer helps raise about $500. Volunteers may attend the speech, receive a free because I said I would T-shirt, and have parking fees reimbursed.
Volunteer schedule: 10:00–10:15 AM arrival; 10:15–10:30 AM locate boxes; 10:30–11:00 AM setup; 11:00 AM–12:00 PM speech; 12:00–12:30 PM merchandise table/meet-and-greet; 12:30–1:00 PM pack up; 1:00–1:15 PM take boxes to the UPS location.
GUEST OPTION (no volunteering): Arrive at 10:45 AM for the 11:00 AM–12:00 PM speech. All times are local Eastern time. Both ticket options are free.
