Components
All players are responsible for providing all models, cards, dice, measuring devices, tokens, trays, terrain and any other items required for play.
The War Council App, asoiaf-stats.com or a printed list, may be used by players in place of Stat Cards. Information must be shared with opponents upon request. If this cannot be provided, it can result in disqualification at the Event Organizer’s discretion. Lists must be newest up to date versions per official updates.
All models in an army must be represented by the appropriate A Song of Ice and Fire/Dark Sword miniatures. Proxies may be used to allow for distribution issues. Conversions for models and/or units are acceptable, but must be readily recognizable as the model/unit in question, and must be composed primarily of A Song of Ice and Fire/Dark Sword miniature components.
In the event proxies are used, the proxy must be visually identifiable as the intended unit. A Stormcrow mercenary can serve as a stand in for a Stormcrow lieutenant, for example. A Bolton blackguard unit may not be used as a proxy for a Stormcrow archer unit. Proxies are allowed in order to accommodate product shortages at certain locations. Kickstarter exclusive models are allowed as long as the model follows the listed guidelines, and the original version of the model has already been released.
All Models must be released at retail prior to (05/10/2024) to be included in the event.
Army Lists
All Rules/Errata/Units/Cards etc, must be updated and current up to CMON’s release date of 05/10/2024.
All players must provide one Army List, and have the option for a second Army List as well. These lists are final and locked in for the tournament.
Neither list may be modified once the submission date of 05/19/24 10am PST has expired.
Both Lists must be of the same faction (I.E: Both Starks, Lannisters, Neutral, etc.), but otherwise have no restrictions on what may be included (aside from keeping to normal Army Construction rules).
Both Lists may not exceed the maximum point value allotted by the Game Size (40pts) of the event.
Lists must clearly specify each Unit/Attachment/NCU and the amount being fielded.
A clear, written distinction must be made between units appearing in each List.
A player is responsible for providing the full Army Lists to the Event Organizer, and have them readily available for opponents to view, before the event begins.
Lists must be typed or printed. Lists must also be electronically submitted by time of registration the day of the event on the asoiaf-stats.com tournament page.
Gameplay
Games will be held on 4 ft X 4 ft battlefields, along with extra space for card decks and tactic boards. Frontline Gaming has provided us with gaming mats to use!
Players are responsible for bringing terrain: at least 2 player choice pieces, 2 corpse piles, and 1 castle wall.
Round times include setup. The faster you set up the more time you have to play. Setup should not take longer than 15 minutes.
Game Modes, Rulebook, and Official FAQ can all be found on the War Council app. Terrain summaries, Targeting Summary, and Game Modes can also be found near your table, but please do not hesitate to call a judge over for any questions you have trouble finding an answer to.
The Head Judge will call out Time Remaining reminders, as well as “Last Round”: Last Round means if the current game situation is the beginning of a round, this is your last round. If the current game situation is finishing a round, you may start one more last round. Anything in between is up to both players' agreement, with the head judge available if needed.
Final Scores are to be submitted and confirmed by players on the linked ASOIAF-Stats.com tournament page. If there are technical issues, the Head Judge may enter the scores for the players.
Sportsmanship
Winning is great but please remember we are all here to have fun and take part in playing a game we love. Be cool!
Players are to be respectful and cooperative to their opponent, tournament staff, and witnessing bystanders at all times.
If, during a game, a dispute occurs, the players should immediately call over the Head Judge or other previously noted Event Staff to resolve the dispute. In such cases the Official’s answer is final.
