Spring Tool Field Day

Join us for a Tool Field Day on Friday, May 29th at Jellyfish Farms: 9am - 11am.

This will be an opportunity for you to get oriented with the New Orleans Growers Tool Lending Library (TLL) and learn how to use the engine-based agricultural tools in the New Orleans Growers Tool Lending Library (TLL). For those who want access to the inventory of Tool Lending Library and the New Orleans ToolBank, this is a required step.

This event will focus on the following tools:

Billy Goat Brush Cutter

Gas-powered auger & driver

Broadfork, wheelhoe, and flame weeder

*Currently the BCS walk-behind tractor and woodchipper do not work

The Tool Lending Library is membership-based, with two tiers of membership:

• Tier 1 (SPRT1): $25/year, does not include engine-based tools
• Tier 2 (SPRT2): $75/year, includes engine-based tools

If you are only interested in a Tier 1 membership, please come to the half hour of the Tool Field Day to learn about the TLL process.

This is an outdoor event in which we will be operating heavy machinery. Please wear close-toed shoes and avoid loose clothing. We will have ear and eye protection for sharing, but you are welcome to bring your own. Gloves, hats, and long sleeves are also recommended.
