Spring Skate School @ Benson Community Center | Level 1-2 | 6-7 PM

The Bay's trained skateboard instructors help youth ages 4-18 develop social-emotional and technical skills on and off the board, from beginner to advanced. Skate School is divided into six skill levels, requiring demonstrated technical learning — such as balancing, pushing, turning, riding up/down ramps, and various tricks — along the way.

Skate School at Benson Community Center in Omaha is offered seasonally in six-week* sessions, which encourages students to come back every week to hone their technical skills. Registration includes a free skateboard and helmet rental, but you’re also welcome to bring your own! Helmets and a waiver** are required for all participants.

*PLEASE NOTE: We will SKIP two (2) classes of Tuesday night Skate School on Tuesday, April 28th and Tuesday, May 26th due to , thereby making our last class Tuesday, June 2nd. In the event of inclement weather, we will extend Skate School by one extra week to account for a makeup session.*

**Our liability waiver MUST be completed by a parent/guardian prior to attending.**

Levels 1-2

This registration is for any student who is a beginner at skateboarding. Students will learn everything from how to safely get on and off a skateboard to how to carve (turn) through cones. Graduates of Level 4 will receive their very own The Bay-branded skateboard deck to continue their skateboarding journey, and graduates of Level 6 will receive a full The Bay-branded complete skateboard! If you are unsure which level your child should be registered for, register for this session (Levels 1-2). Regardless, our trained skate instructors will assess each student’s level in your child’s first week!
