Join 52 Hike Challenge-Illinois and leisurely stroll beautiful nature trails along the shore of Lake Springfield on Sat Apr 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM. This event is a great opportunity to unwind, connect with nature, and enjoy the serene surroundings of the Lincoln Memorial Garden and Nature Center. Designed by internationally-renowned landscape architect Jens Jensen, this 100-acre site features over 6 miles of scenic trails that wind through the Garden’s restored prairies, woodlands and wetlands.

Info: PLEASE NOTE: Times are approximate. The early opt-out and extended hike options should allow all participants to modify their day to meet their needs. Please, however, sign out with the group leader should you choose to leave prior to the end of the basic hike.

Info: Your guide will preview the route we will be taking, as well as options for the extended hike. We'll begin by taking in some of the areas near the visitor center, then head to the Ostermeier Prairie Center, returning to the LMG trails and the Cawley Wetland Establishment across the road from LMG. Participants will be able to opt out to end their hike early but must check out with the leader when leaving.

Info: This portion is optional for those who wish to hike any of the remaining trails, including the Cawley Wetland Establishment across the road from LMG as well as the eastern portions of LMG. Times are approximate.

Info: Our hike will be 2+ miles, with the options to hike up to 5 miles.

Info: To streamline the sign-in procedure, the required 52 Hike Challenge waiver is printed on the sign-in sheet and your signature covers both sign-in and waiver. Additionally, extra printed copies of the waiverwill be available if you want to read it more closely prior to signing in. The language for each of the waiver follows:
