Spring migration brings a wave of birds to Seven Islands State Birding Park, and this accessible birding tour offers everyone the chance to experience it. As birds travel north to their breeding grounds, the park’s river corridor and open habitats become an important stopover for migrants. Join a Ranger Clare to observe spring migrants and learn identification tips.This program is recommended for adults and families with children ages 8 and up. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 9:00 AM. We will travel along the Bobwhite ADA Trail to the bridge over the French Broad River, covering approximately 2 miles round trip on a paved, accessible surface. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The program will last approximately 2 hours, with frequent stops for bird observation and discussion. Binoculars are recommended; a limited number may be available to borrow. The park also has one all-terrain wheelchair that is available upon request. The cost of this program is $6 per participant. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult.
Please come prepared with weather-appropriate clothing, a water bottle, and binoculars if you have them. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
