A Meditative Art Class to Create Your Own Mandala.Five week course, starting on 3rd February (6pm to 8pm), guided by tutor Anne Thomas.
'These mandala classes are a joyful and fertile mix of practical geometry, creative exploration and sacred art practice. Beginners are welcome, but there will also be plenty of new stuff to discover for those of you who have worked with me before.'
A ‘Mandala’ is a circular design, which brings together symbols, patterns, colours or objects into an expression of wholeness. The creation of a Mandala is a sacred art practice that can offer a way to work artistically which helps us feel more centred and connected within ourselves and the world around us.
The aim of this course is to create your own mandala design and will include:
* Observing the geometry of nature and multi-cultural mandala art.
* An introduction to sacred geometry, the symbolic language of shapes.
* Drawing geometric patterns with compass and ruler
* Exploring the energetic qualities of colour.
* Mindfulness meditation.
Meeting weekly for five sessions, allows time for you to really immerse in the process, work on your design between sessions, to reflect and bring questions, and share your process and progress with the group.
Suitable for beginners and those with previous experience.
Materials are provided, but do bring your own brushes, pencils, ruler and compass if you prefer.
Tutor: Anne Thomas is a local artist, teacher and Holistic Health Practitioner based in Ynys Las.
Cost: £80 (£60) including all materials and handouts
