💲 Free event - all welcome!
♻️ How the swap works
Bring if you can:
👕 Up to 10 clean, good-quality kids’ clothing items
🧸 Up to 10 clean, good-quality toys or books
Bring preloved items your family no longer needs and go home with “new to you” treasures.
When you arrive, please hand your items to volunteers. We check people in and weigh incoming items so we can track the impact of our swaps - then you can start browsing straight away.
No token system.
Take what you need, give what you can.
Nothing to swap? No worries.
Everyone is welcome, no questions asked. We always have plenty to go around, and we especially welcome expecting and new parents to give baby clothes and items a new home 🙌
We also have:
🤰 Maternity and postpartum clothing
👶 Free cloth nappies
💬 Cloth nappy demos and advice
📦 Get ready now
Find a box and start filling it with preloved clothing that no longer fits and toys that are no longer played with.
🛝 Kids welcome
Katoomba Lighthouse has an excellent children’s play area, and we’ll have craft activities set up. Swaps are a lovely early opportunity for children to learn about reuse, sharing and caring for things.
🍰 Refreshments available
Affordable refreshments will be available on site, with a lovely café-style seating area. Katoomba Lighthouse really is a wonderful venue to swap!
🫶 More than a swap
Our swaps are about more than exchanging material items. We are reducing waste, sharing resources, saving money and building a caring parent community. Come along, meet local families and make new friends.
💪 Volunteers needed
This is a free, community-led event and we need your support to keep it going. Please reach out if you can help on the day.
Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge that we are living, working and caring for our children on unceded Dharug and Gundungurra lands. We pay our respects to Traditional Owners and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
