Spring into Spring with a creative playdate to shake of the winter blahs!
Join us to make a spring-themed fused glass tile/suncatcher/coaster using the provided 4"×4" base glass and a wide assortment of compatible decorative colored glass elements including frit, stringers, dots, dichroic glass, and glass inclusions, as well as hangers if needed. You'll create beautiful and unique fused glass keepsakes while learning basic glass properties, cutting/shaping skills, and design principles. You can come with ideas for making a spring image/theme, an abstract design or geometric pattern, or be inspired once you arrive. You create and assemble your projects with your instructor helping you interpret and execute your vision.
We allotted 2 hours for this workshop, though everyone works at a different pace, so you may be finished sooner. In that case, additional base glass is available for $15 for you to make an additional piece.
Your piece is then fused together for about 17 hours in off-site glass kilns at approximately 1400°, which can be picked up at your class site - typically in 7-10 days after your class.
This workshop is open to all levels - no prior glass or art experience is needed to take home a beautiful finished product! Ages 7 to Adult. (Under 18 with adult.)
