Spring into Creativity: A Nowruz Vision Board Ceremony

If the new year didn’t fully land for you in January or you don’t quite feel the “new year energy”, you are not alone. Many of our ancestors and communities of today celebrate the beginning of the year on the Spring Equinox.

Spring is a time of renewal, hope, and connection. Across SWANA, Asian, North African, and neighboring lands, many people and communities celebrate Nowruz (Newroz, Nawroz)- a Spring New Year that honors cycles of change, growth, and return.

Facilitated by artists and therapists, we will provide all supplies and guide you through engaging exercises with your materials.

Guided meditative exercises, brief writing prompts, and mental health exploration will help you tap into your vision and wishes for the year.

Simple demonstrations and 1:1 instruction will help you use paint, paper, collage, stickers, and 3D elements to be the artist you want to be.

Bring photos, cut-outs, your favorite magazines, pieces of fabric, accessories, postcards, stickers, or any other items you want to include on your board!
