This event is Free. Bee Positive DG8 would like to invite you to Spring into Action for our pollinators this year. We have two fascinating talks and plenty of local projects taking part. Tracy Smith who is Landscape Architect for Amey Roads will be talking about their approach to maximising the management of trunk road verges and roundabouts for the benefit of pollinators, and discussing exciting plans for our local A75 (working with Bee Positive and other local projects), and Sonja and Jim Brodie, the edible gardeners, will give us insights about how they (and you) can work with pollinators to mutual benefit in your own garden.
We have representatives coming along from projects which are helping pollinators, to introduce themselves and give details how you can get involved, Confirmed so far are Kilsture Forest Community Group, the Croft in Whithorn, Galloway Apple Project (Wigtown), Cree Woodland Volunteers, D&G Woodlands, Dumfries and Galloway Butterflies and Moths, Nature Recovery Network, WOMANS (Newton Stewart), MAC-CAN, the Plant Farm (Whithorn) and Jane from Jemima's Garden who will be there to offer for sale local widlflower seeds.
We're also moving forward with our 'Plug-in' project launched in the autumn. If you have one of our plug trays, this is the time to bring them back - either empty because you have planted out, or full ready to be planted locally. Separate instructions will be arriving via email if you've given us your email address, or on our Facebook page.

And we will be announcing the dates and venues for our ever-popular Open Wild Gardens this summer.
There will of course be home-made cakes and tea, and we're factoring plenty of time for people to chat to each other and the representatives from the above organisations.
