We’ll be decorating with a spring fun theme – from worms (don’t worry – these you’ll want to eat) and flowers, birds and rain boots – you’re going to love gettin’ your feet wet in this sugary garden with me! Whether you're a baking enthusiast or just want to have a great time, this in-person event is perfect for you. Grab your friends, family, or significant other and get ready to unleash your creativity. Brooke (the instructor) will guide you through the process of decorating sugar cookies with various techniques and designs. You'll learn tips and tricks to make your cookies look as good as they taste. Sign up now and let's create some cookie masterpieces!
About this Class
This class is for the beginner cookier or for the person who is just curious about what cookie decorating is all about! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with royal icing, or if you're trying to have fun with family or friends, this is the class for you! These cookies will taste amazing and will look even better once you’ve completed your decorating!
We provide everything you will need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in - we just need YOU! Each person gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing is required. Just decorate!
This class is on Saturday, May 24th 2025 and starts at 4:00 pm sharp so we can have enough time to decorate and answer questions along the way. Come by yourself, bring your best friend, or bring the family - we have seating for up to 15 people! It's a blast whether you're coming with a friend, family member, or solo! Each participant needs their own ticket as seats are limited. No sharing kits or observers are allowed.
This class is good for ages 10 & up, but if you'd like to leave the kiddos at home, purchase an add-on kit (more on that below)! The kits are great for kids at home, plus - we'll send you the class PowerPoint so you can teach them yourself!
The class will be held in the Dining Room at Kennay Farms Distilling in downtown Rochelle 416 Lincoln Hwy. Rochelle, IL 61068.
Things to Bring
Wondering what you need to bring to have a successful time decorating? Well – nothing’s required – but here’s the things we recommend if you’d like to elevate your experience!
· Bring an apron! Things can get messy when you’re workin’ with royal icing – so grab an apron (bonus points if it’s cute – I’ll definitely be asking where you got it).
· Bring your glasses! There’s a reference slide deck to help you decorate, but if things get blurry far away, seeing glasses may be a great bet.
· Bring your phone! I love it when students take pictures throughout class – so bring a phone!
Bring a good attitude! Cookies are fun, but they're also challenging! A good attitude makes all the difference.
About Aunt B's Baking
Who doesn’t love getting out and doing something fun while also eating delicious cookies!? That’s what Decorating with Aunt B is all about!
These classes are based in & around the Rochelle area and cater to the beginner cookier or people just looking to have fun learning a new skill. Whether you just want a fun date, a girls-or-guys-night-out or just want to explore what cookie decorating is on your own - we have a seat for you.
For our classes, all you will need to bring is yourself (and an apron if you are a messy decorator), and I’ll take care of the rest. Oh – and bring eyeglasses so you can see the instructional PowerPoint if your eyesight is anything like mine. You will get a set of pre-baked cookies (pretty tasty if I do say so myself) as well as all the supplies you will need to decorate them during the class. You will leave the class with your very own box of your very own newly decorated cookies!
A little about me – I’ve been decorating sugar cookies since August 2020 – and I’ve not put down a scribe since (don’t know what a scribe is? I’ll teach you in class!). My favorite cookie themes to decorate are birthdays, baby showers, & food themes – but I can do pretty much anything if icing’s involved. I love what I do –who wouldn’t love making cookies?! It’s the sweetest job in the world!
Oh yeah - I have classes throughout the year which highlight different themes so make sure to sign up to be on my Sweet VIP email list so you can get in on the cookie action!
Cancelation / Refund / Sick Policy
Before 7 Days Out:
If you’re sick, need to cancel, or would like to be rolled into a future class before the 7-day refund cutoff, you can cancel for a refund minus Eventbrite fees. To request a refund through Eventbrite, follow these steps: Log in to Eventbrite. Go to Tickets. Find the order you want refunded, then select Request a refund.
After 7-Days Out:
If you get sick or can no longer attend the class, you may gift your class seat to a friend or family member (please notify me of this change), or we can arrange for you (or someone else) to pick up your class kit & you can decorate it at another time & use the email after class which will contain the PowerPoint to walk you through the class steps. Please email me as soon as possible to let me know, so we can discuss the options.
You Don't Show Up or Email Prior To Class:
If I do not hear from you before your class’s start time, and you do not show up for class, I won’t be able to offer you a refund, will not be rolled into a future class, or kit pick-up, even if you're sick. So please reach out before class if you’re feeling sick!
Add-On Kits
Order your Take-Home Cookie Kit and take the class home with you to teach a child or friend! These kits come with everything you'll use in class (minus the cookie scribe-add a supply starter kit to purchase one of those to take home), and I’ll email you the class PowerPoint so you can follow our step-by-step instructions from home! Take-Home Cookie Kits are created before your class, and you'll pick them up and take them home with you after class in addition to the cookies you decorated in class.
How long can a kit last? Depending on how you store your icing, your kits can last for a week or longer. Freezing cookies keeps them fresh for a long time, but I recommend using your kit as soon as possible - ideally in the first week or two after you've taken it home. Cookies are heat-sealed for freshness – but again, use it in under a week to make sure it tastes the best.
Order a Supply Starter Kit to have everything you need to practice at home. Includes 1 cookie scribe, 6 tipless piping bags, and 1 laminated practice sheet.
Allergen Disclaimer / Class Cancelation Policy / Weather Policy / Fees Disclaimer
Allergens: Heads up – these cookies are Almond Vanilla Sugar Cookies.
Please note – This product was produced in a home kitchen not subject to public health inspection that may also process common food allergens.
Please consider your allergies before purchasing a ticket.
Class Cancelation Policy: Classes may be canceled at the discretion of me, the event host. This rarely happens – but in that extremely rare event that it does, you’ll receive a 100% refund including your Eventbrite fees.
Classes with attendance below 6 will be canceled. Don’t be sad! You can either be rolled into a future class (along with my apologies), or a full refund! I’ll let you know if your class has low attendance 7 days before the event is canceled so that you can bring a friend (hint hint) or find other plans for that day.
Weather Policy: Sometimes Jack Frost doesn’t play well with cookie class schedules, and Mother Nature seems to be takin’ notes. In the event of inclement weather, I’ll contact you with options – these may differ depending on the weather event, but rest assured – we’ll figure something out!
Eventbrite Fees: Your ticket price includes your ticket fees; however, Eventbrite, does not refund its fees. If you cancel your ticket and request a refund prior to the cancelation window expiring, I’ll happily give you a refund less the Eventbrite fee – since I don’t get this fee back either. Eventbrite keeps it regardless of whether you show up or cancel. I know – I hate it too!
