Join Wyandot County Public Health for the Spring Fling Volunteer Day at the Wyandot County Community Garden from 2-6 p.m. April 25, at the garden (located on the corner of S. Sandusky Ave. and Hicks St in Downtown Upper Sandusky).April 25 is the 2026 Global Youth Service Day and the Wyandot Chamber's Spring Fling event in Downtown Upper Sandusky. It's the perfect day to enjoy some fresh spring fun and to support the community too! Volunteers will help WCPH staff with an expansion project at the community garden that Wyandot County Public Health maintains. New garden boxes will allow additional spaces for community members to reserve for the season to grow fresh healthy foods for personal use.
Who can volunteer:
While this event is aimed at youth volunteers, we welcome and encourage adults to volunteer as well.

Event Details:
Work will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the Wyandot County Community Garden at the corner of South Sandusky Ave. and Hicks Street in Upper Sandusky. It is expected that work will be completed around 5:30 p.m. with pizza and drinks to follow for volunteers. Youth and adult volunteers are welcome to join us for this event.
Rain Date:
This event will happen rain or shine. In the event that severe weather is in the forecast, the rain date is 2 p.m. Sunday, April 26.
What to bring:
- Work clothes that can get dirty
- Sunscreen and bug spray
- Water
- Optional: Tools that are marked with the volunteer's name. (Examples: Garden gloves, shovels, drill and or socket set).
Project Funding:
This project is funded by the Global Youth Service Day grant received by Wyandot County Public Health from Serve Ohio. Established in 1988, Global Youth Service Day (April 24-26, 2026) celebrates and mobilizes the millions of young people who improve their communities through service. GYSD is the largest service event in the world and the only one dedicated to the contributions that children and youth make 365 days of the year.
