Spring Fling at West Ridge Nature Park

Join us Sunday April 19th at West Ridge Nature Park for spring fling birdwalk. All skills and experience levels are welcome! We will spend 1.5-2 hours navigating mostly flat, paths and boardwalks. BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+ and Disabled birders are welcome! Families and children welcomed, please rsvp for everyone in the family.

Getting there: Meet at the park entrance near North Western Avenue and West Ardmore Ave, street parking is available as well as public transit. For directions using public transportation visit www.transitchicago.com.

Accessibility & Terrain: We will cover a distance of approximately 1-3 miles depending on what we encounter along the way. The group may occasionally venture on to grassy lawn areas or woodchip/dirt paths. There are some benches and rest areas along the path. Restrooms are not available but portable bathrooms may be in the nearby west ridge park. Breaks, sensory aids, and AAC are welcome throughout the walk. There may be some noise from traffice, trains and airplanes.

What to bring: Please dress in comfortable weather appropriate clothing and lots of layers. Comfortable walking shoes and plenty of water to stay hydrated are suggested.

Registration: Registration is limited, please only register if you are able to attend. You will receive an Eventbrite confirmation of your RSVP at the email address you provide. We will also send an automatic reminder email to attendees within 24 hours of the event. Please cancel your ticket or email us at [email protected] at least 24 hours before the event if you are no longer able to attend. Waitlist spots are prioritized for LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC & Disabled folks.
